Line graph showing the typical course of untreated HIV infection. Depicts this
analogy: If the infected individual is imagined as being on that train traveling
toward a clinical event--such as acquiring an OI or dying from AIDS--the CD4
count provides information on the distance of the train from that destination,
whereas the viral load provides information on the speed of the train in
reaching the destination.
