HILTON HEAD, S.C., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ - Dr. Roger Kenneth Hershline M.D.,
Ph.D., founder of Cure HIV, Inc. and Global Humanceuticals, Inc., announced
today that he has applied for an international patent on his antiviral
composition. He has received International Publication No. WO2006/050381
published on May 6, 2006. Dr. Hershline was issued a United States Patent
#6,821,958 on November 23, 2004 for this new low-cost, highly effective,
nontoxic medication for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. The

next step in getting this topical microbicide to market.

leading scientists at the National Institutes of Health. The NIH has encouraged
Dr. Hershline to proceed with clinical studies.
Approximately 7,000 women, mostly young women of child-bearing age, become
infected with the HIV virus every day. The creation of an effective and
affordable microbicide would enable women to protect themselves against the HIV
virus transmitted through sexual intercourse, the leading form of transmission
worldwide.
Global Humanceuticals’ goal is to produce this microbicide with Dr. Hershline’s
antiviral composition. It will require tens of millions of dollars to complete
the pre-clinical and clinical trials of this new microbicide. Cure HIV’s goal is
to raise the funds necessary to accomplish this task.
Cure HIV needs financial support to complete pre-clinical and clinical
development of this new medication.
